When I woke up this morning, I had no plans to write this post. I wasn't thinking about anything concerning this story at all. I completed a first draft edit a couple of days ago. The story isn't finished, but what I have so far amounts to 4200 words. I estimate it will be closer to the last two short stories in length as opposed to the first two.
I also have two different potential covers for this story. I made one cover a few weeks ago. I thought it was serviceable, but I never felt satisfied with it. Today, I went to make a little background poster so I could essentially tease the cover while revealing the title, but I wasn't enthused about my first attempt. I then spent the next hour and a half constructing a brand new cover.
I'm not ready to choose between my two covers, but I will reveal the title. Without further ado, I present the title to my next short story. In case you're wondering, the background image is the inspiration to the title.
